Masoneilan SVi1000 valve positioner calibration method

MASONEILAN valve positioner is the main accessory of control valve. It takes the stem displacement signal as the input feedback measurement signal, and the controller output signal as the setting signal for comparison, and when there is a deviation between the two, it will change its output signal to the actuator to make the actuator act, which establishes a one-to-one correspondence between the stem displacement and the controller output signal. Therefore, the valve positioner consists of a feedback control system with the stem displacement as the measurement signal and the controller output as the setting signal. The manipulation variable of the control system is the output signal of the valve positioner to the actuator.

Open the positioner housing to see the positioner panel, there are 4 red keys on the positioner

From top to bottom:

1. The first red button: is the positioner full open and full closed position adjustment button;
2. The 2nd red button: is the positioner travel adjustment button (usually not used);
3. The 3rd red button: is the positioner auto-tuning button;
4. The fourth red button: the cancel button.

Other keys and excuses:

• Digital 4 interface: 4-20mA input signal interface
• Digital 6 interface: ground interface
• Digital 7 switch: configuration selection switch (select the valve for gas open valve or gas closed valve, according to the size of the cylinder to select the corresponding number)
• Digital 8 knob open: switch stop adjustment button

The SVI1000 positioner provides the following options: 1 General option 2 HART mode 3 Fault hold mode 4 Manual operation on site.

1. Set the configuration selector switch 0 corresponds to the air open valve and 8 corresponds to the air closed valve. And select the corresponding number according to the cylinder size
2. Press the 1st button, when the green light beside it flashes, release the button within 2-7 seconds (the operation will be canceled automatically if timeout or insufficient time is taken), and the positioner will automatically find the valve in full-open position and full-closed position, and the 4 indicators will flash in turn when it is finished.
3. Press the third button again, when the green light next to it flashes, release the button within 2-7 seconds (timeout or insufficient time will automatically cancel the operation), the positioner will automatically adjust, and after completion, the 4 indicator lights will flash in turn, and the valve positioner debugging is completed.

1. Step 1: Press the upper stop button for 2 to 7 seconds until the green LED2 lights up, then release the button. The green LED2 flashes.
2. Step 2: Rotate the on/off stop adjustment button 8 to bring the valve to the desired position.
3. Step 3: Press the upper stop button for more than 2 seconds, the new open or closed position of the valve has been saved in the unit Press the cancel button, the green LED1 light goes out and the unit returns to normal mode.
