Guided radar level measurement for extreme process conditions – up to 400 bar and 400 °C
If you have steam boilers, high-pressure separators, reactor vessels or any process running above 200 °C and 100 bar, most level instruments simply give up. The FMP54 doesn’t. It’s built from the ground up for these conditions: special high-temperature rope or rod probes, gas-tight ceramic coupling, and a temperature spacer that keeps the electronics cool. In real plants it measures reliably in saturated steam at 280–350 °C and 160–250 bar every day. Thousands of units are running in refineries, power stations and chemical plants without drama.
| Measuring range | up to 45 m (rope), 10 m (rod) |
| Process pressure | -1 to +400 bar |
| Process temperature | -196 to +400 °C (special version) |
| Accuracy | ±2 mm |
| Output | 4–20 mA HART, Profibus PA, Foundation Fieldbus |
| Approvals | ATEX, IECEx, FM, CSA, SIL 2/3 |
| Housing | Aluminium or 316L stainless |
Q: Will the rope stretch at 400 °C?
A: No – the HT rope has ceramic weight and special anchoring, zero elongation even after 10 years.
Q: Can I use it in saturated steam?
A: Yes – thousands are doing it. Add external pressure sensor for automatic steam compensation if you want.
Q: How do I prove it’s still accurate?
A: Run Heartbeat Verification – takes 30 seconds, gives signed report.
