Product Description
Product Overview

In ammonia storage spheres, LPG bullets and small LNG tanks the FMP54 with coaxial probe is installed everywhere. The coaxial version has no dead zones and measures right to the bottom even with very low dielectric (εr ≥ 1.4). It handles the big temperature swings from filling cold product to warm ambient without losing signal. Many plants have been running the same FMP54 for 15+ years with zero maintenance.

What Makes It Special for Low-Temperature Service
  • Coaxial probe – measures ammonia (εr ≈ 1.6) without problems
  • Temperature shock resistant – from -196 °C to +200 °C in minutes
  • No moving parts, no drift, no recalibration
  • Gas-tight ceramic coupling – safe for toxic NH3
  • Works in stilling wells and bypass pipes perfectly
Main Numbers
Media Liquid ammonia, LPG, LNG, N2, CO2, etc.

Where You See Them Every Day
  • Ammonia storage spheres and tanks
  • LPG bullets and horton spheres
  • Small-scale LNG tanks
  • Refrigerant storage
Common Questions

Q: Will it work when the tank is cold and then warms up?
A: Yes – the ceramic coupling handles 400 K temperature shock without issues.

Q: Do I need a stilling well?
A: Not mandatory, but many customers use the coaxial probe inside existing stilling wells.
