Product Overview

The Tissin TS800 is a smart valve positioner that controls valve stroke in response to a 4-20mA input signal from a control panel, DCS, or calibrator. It receives the current signal and proportionally adjusts the pneumatic pressure supplied to the valve actuator, precisely controlling the valve opening.

The unit is equipped with a built-in microprocessor that enables auto-setting, PID control, and HART communication. A local user interface with an LCD and four pushbuttons allows quick and easy calibration. The positioner includes a partial stroke test (PST) function, alarm function, auto/manual switch, and self-diagnosis capability. The IP66/NEMA 4X enclosure protects the unit in demanding industrial environments.

The TS800 uses a large-flow pilot valve to improve valve control speed. It supports both linear (10~150mm) and rotary (0~90°) actuators. Optional features include a 4-20mA DC position transmitter, HART communication (Ver. HART 7), and limit switch modules.

Common Problems

• Input signal mismatch: If the positioner's recognized input signal differs from the DCS or calibrator output, check the power supply voltage. If supply current is normal, reset the <IN ZERO> and <IN END> values in the <TUNING> menu.

• Hunting or oscillation: If hunting occurs due to high valve packing friction, increase the dead band value within the field-allowed range. If the dead band is set too low, it slows the search for the target point.

• EEPROM error: Check whether the positioner is installed too high or too low. Check if it is installed too far from the actuator (check the angle of use). Check if the potentiometer gear and main gear are out of position due to strong vibration or external shock.

• No response to input signal: Check supply pressure is within 140~700 kPa. Verify pneumatic connections are secure. Check the feedback lever installation.

• Slow valve response: If the actuator size is too large, set the TbL value to TbL 4 (LLS). If the torque motor is damaged, replace it.
